University Wishaw Hospital
Wishaw General Hospital is one of the 3 acute hospitals in NHS Lanarkshire.
Wishaw General Hospital opened in 2001 and houses 633 beds. WGH offers most acute services but is also home to the paediatric service for Lanarkshire. Paediatric patients requiring Orthopaedic intervention are treated at Wishaw General as long as they are over 5 years old.
Wishaw is one of the few remaining hospitals in the WoS to offer onsite accommodation if required (at extra cost).
There is a reasonably good canteen onsite.

Car - Wishaw General hospital is only 3 miles from the M74 however if travelling from the City Centre expect heavy traffic on the M74. There are other options to avoid the M74 however these will also add 30 min onto your commute they involve going through a lot of built up areas.
There is usually car parking available on site.
Train / Bus - Wishaw train station is only a 30 min journey from Glasgow City Centre followed by a 10-15 min walk. There are also plenty buses which will run to or nearby the Hospital.
