General Information

Stobhill Hospital is situated in the north of the city, just south of Bishopbriggs. There has been a hospital on this site since 1904, although a new ambulatory care hospital opened in 2009 and all acute services were transferred to Glasgow Royal Infirmary by 2011.

The new hospital offers day surgery and out patient services for a variety of specialties. There are 2 in patient Medicine for the Elderly wards and a 23 hour surgery ward. There is a minor injuries unit on site, a large mental health on the campus and specialist services such as cardiology and renal dialysis.

Catering

There is an Aroma cafe on the ground floor, in the atrium. Furthermore, there is an Aroma dining room on the top floor. This is staff only and offers panoramic views of the city and outside seating in the summer.

Orthopaedic Department

Stobhill provides day sugery services for Glasgow Royal Infirmary. Day case/23 hour surgery is performed here, including unicompartmental knee replacements. Some elective and nurse led hand clinics are also held on this site.

Travel Information

Stobhill Hospital is located in the North of the City.

 

Car - It is only 5 min drive from the M80 giving easy access to the M8. Non-permit parking is available on site, although it is limited. 

 

Train / Bus - If using public transport you can travel by train from the Glasgow Queen Street station to Springburn in around 30 min followed by a 30 min walk. You can also get a bus from Buchanan Street which will drop you on nearby Balgrayhill Road just a 5 min walk away.

 

Walk - It is possible to walk from the city centre however it would take around 60 min.
